Join The Impact -- Nationwide March for Marriage Equality

The weather was hot and the crowd excited as thousands poured into the streets of downtown Los Angeles yesterday for the "Join The Impact" march for Marriage Equality. We took two friends with us, riding the subway filled with gay folks all the way downtown. It was my "husband's" first time on the Los Angeles subway system, and it turned out to be quite memorable. The train filled to overflowing with demonstrators carrying signs and hugging their partners and carrying their gaybys. Here are some snaps.

The energy from this crowd of people as it surged up from the subway platform all the way up the stairs and escalators got all our spirits soaring. It was like a gusher of gays coming up out of the ground chanting "What do we want? Equal rights! When do we want them? Now!" Even the two gay dads hauling their baby and the baby stroller up the steps got into it.

This was also the first time my "husband" had been to any kind of demonstration like this. I feel seasoned after a decade in San Francisco.
