Spring and the Strike break together

Mother Nature and the Writer's Guild are working together to bring about change in Los Angeles today. The frigid, wet, windy weather we've had since December broke out into a cloudless 80 degrees and sunshine. At the same moment the WGA is meeting with their members to iron out the end of the strike that has everyone's panties in a twist. I can feel the city about to exhale.

I see trees budding everywhere, and some ambitious ones have already exploded bright pink. They're probably embarrassed at their own enthusiasm.

Alas, we won't be beaming up to the International Bear Rendezvous next week. It always pleased me to sit in the lobby of the host hotel and watch the big, ear-to-ear smiles as bears from far off places walk in the door. Suddenly they find themselves in a world where they are the norm. It's almost like discovering the gay world for the first time.

Perhaps if things work out we'll go to our first Lazy Bear Weekend this summer, or the Bear St. fair up in SF before the year is over.
